DWOC: Lighting the Way!

Our staff, teachers, and students welcome you to the Donald E. Woods Opportunity Center (DWOC) website. Our focus is on student excellence and achievement. Our mission is to provide a high quality education for all our students. At DWOC our daily endeavor is to see all our students return to their home schools as soon as possible, prepared for success in college or career after graduation. You are welcome to contact us with any questions that you may have.

We rely on the support of our community. Here are a few ways you can get involved:

1. Volunteer in your schools by investing your time to help our students succeed in life,

2. Advocate for your schools by writing or calling your local representatives,

3. Donate resources to support the work we do daily of providing a high-quality education for all,

4. Share in our student success stories via Facebook and Twitter.

Polk County is the 4th lowest funded district in the state, ranked 64th out of 67 districts. Despite this, our graduation rates have steadily increased.

Thank you to the Anonymous Family and the City of Dundee for the ARK (Act of Random Kindness). Thank you to everyone who has made a lasting contribution to the success of our students inside and outside the classroom – parents, community leaders, and donors. It is greatly appreciated!
