School Dress Code

dress-codeNEW FOR THE 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR

At the Donald E. Woods Opportunity Center (DWOC), all clothing must be of appropriate size, with waist of garment worn at the student’s waist. Clothing that is too tight or too loose is not appropriate for school. The teachers and staff of the DWOC reserve the right to seize any article that is deemed inappropriate or distracting. All clothing must be worn properly.

Tops
A solid white, polo-style shirt with collar is required. Must have short or long sleeves. All shirts must be worn tucked in. No stripes or banded shirts or tails.

Bottoms
A solid beige, dress khaki pants is required to be worn at the student’s waist. Must wear a belt. No tucking of pant legs. No sweatpants or jeans.

Belt
A belt is required at all times.
Clothes must be of appropriate size, with waist of garment worn at student’s waist.

Socks
Socks reaching to the ankle must be worn at all times.

Shoes
Closed-toe and closed-heel casual dress shoes or sneakers are required.
The following are not permitted: boots, open-toed shoes, sandals, high-heels, pumps, open-heeled shoes, roller sneakers, or slippers.

Jewelry & Other Accessories
No watches, jewelry, or accessories of any kind.
 The following are not permitted: watches, gauges, jewelry, earrings, piercings, hats, sunglasses, bandannas, flags, torn/frayed clothing, etc. If it is questionable or possibly distracting, please DO NOT WEAR IT.

Jackets
Any kind of jacket, coat, or cardigan must adhere to the regular dress code rules.
 The following are not permitted: Disruptive, distracting, or offensive displays of language, symbols, etc.

Our mission is to provide a high quality education for all students. Therefore, all clothing must be worn properly and adhere to dress code. Clothing that is too tight or too loose is not appropriate for school. Our staff reserves the right to seize any article that is deemed inappropriate or distracting.
